Beware those 1 in 5 Americans

Saw a story last night on The Washington Post’s website saying that 1 in 5 Americans believes President Obama is Muslim, even though he’s always said he’s Christian.

I’m not going to get into a discussion about whether Obama is a Muslim or isn’t (although he isn’t). No, I want to focus on these 1 in 5 Americans.

I’ve done a little research (Google), and I’ve come to the conclusion that 1 in 5 Americans are probaby a little nutty.

Don’t believe me? According to various sources (some of them credible), 1 in 5 Americans:

• Think the sun goes around the Earth
• Say they’ve seen or felt a ghost
• Believe space aliens have made contact with humans
• Admit to urinating in a swimming pool
• Don’t get enough sleep
• Have no future life goals
• Are bird watchers

One of the most striking statistics I found is that 1 in 5 Americans still don’t use the Internet.

Say what you will about the great unplugged. They’ll never read it.
